This is some good news I've had and will be having this month. This time it would be having the opportunity to exhibit with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters this year at the Mall Galleries, London.
The exhibition opens on the 28th of October, 2009 and will run till the 8th of November. If you are in London during that time, it will be worth viewing!

This is a recent commission I have finished, with the client pleased and the work delivered!

I have worked with oil in a technique that employs glazing, starting from thin oil layers to heavy layers but still keeping the transparency.

Some of you might remember the post I shared about having a commission to paint someones Grandad from a small 6x4 black and white photograph, it was the only photograph they had left.

I took up this challenge and now after a few adjustments here and there it has been verified!

I got in 3 valuable hours today and this might be the final. I don't think I'll be taking this on again because it got to the stage where I said all what I wanted to say at the beginning of the painting. It was all about her hair and that has been achieved! This is one model I would continue to paint as far as she is available. Very professional and has a charming personality too.
