ADEBANJI ALADE: MY ART, MY PASSION FOR SKETCHING — panel
Kezia I, 6" x 7.5", Acrylic sketch on panel, 2009
acrylic acrylic sketch Kezia liqitex slow-dri blending medium panel
This is my first sketch of my daughter Kezia (sounds strange), I really struggled with this, as the proportions of a tiny baby are not something I'm used to, but this is the beginning and I 'll learn day by day. It is an acrylic sketch on a self primed Masonite panel.
Here she is only 2 days old and already she is changing.
It really melts my heart looking at her, what a privilege to be responsible...

Joshua's First Hair Cut, 12" x 20", Mixed Media on Panel, 2009
acrylic biro coloured pencil josh me mixed media panel portraits self portrait
Some events in life are common but worth remembering. One of them happens to be the first time I cut Josh's hair. He was a bit bewildered and didn't have a clue what was going on. The job had to be done and I can't say I gave him a good hair cut but that was the first time and it is worth remembering. I have improved on my barbing skills since then.
On this piece I have used mainly thin Acrylic...
