This is my first sketch of my daughter Kezia (sounds strange), I really struggled with this, as the proportions of a tiny baby are not something I'm used to, but this is the beginning and I 'll learn day by day. It is an acrylic sketch on a self primed Masonite panel.



Here she is only 2 days old and already she is changing.

It really melts my heart looking at her, what a privilege to be responsible...

This is the second piece I discovered and it celebrates The Igbo child in Finland. I saw a video that inspired this piece. It shows how children who are of Igbo descent in Nigeria are taught to speak their mother tongue even though they are born in a foreign land. I was thrilled because I also speak Yoruba, my mother tongue to Josh and it really helps him to have a sense of belonging.

This is my entry into Karin Juricks DSFDF. I really liked the reference from the first sight of it! I have done a bit of research on other Diana statues and I added two other ones I liked- that's why I call it TRIANA.







I did this piece with graphite, biro, tom-bow wash pens, white ink, acrylic and wax crayons on light blue pastel paper.
