I have sketched so many horses in the past and I love their movement, form and just the smell of being around these fun living things. The sounds they make and the way they are never stable but keep moving.

This guy is one of the great buskers around, these are the guys that play on the trains and tubes to make music while the commuters drop a few coins in appreciation. I worked with him at St Mungos and he was very much interested in art too, he worked in coloured pencils.

This is the fourteenth in my current Afro Series, This is the first time I am using two models. Two of my great friends.




I used sepia and sanguine dust mixed with water and often used an eraser to pick out highlights when the wash had dried up!

The emphasis once again is the beauty of black hair.
