This is my first for a series of life sketches I'll be doing of Kezia. You can see all the sleep mode series I've done but most will be of Josh. It is an interesting thing to study children while they sleep and for Kezia , I had to quickly sketch her while holding her head in my hand (you'll see part of my thumb showing). I had to stop when I heard a big rushing flush......you know what that...
This makes number 11 in my current Emotions series.
This is the "usual" tiny baby emotion-The model here is my newly born daughter, "Kezia" - she came on June 9th, 2009- 14.21hrs and weighed 3.2kg. This piece was done in charcoal dust, oil base pencil and graphite on watercolour paper.
This is my first sketch of my daughter Kezia (sounds strange), I really struggled with this, as the proportions of a tiny baby are not something I'm used to, but this is the beginning and I 'll learn day by day. It is an acrylic sketch on a self primed Masonite panel.
Here she is only 2 days old and already she is changing.
It really melts my heart looking at her, what a privilege to be responsible...
