This is my second day out sketching in London, this time its the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral. It's a very imposing building and one of my favourites in London.



I had a a nice time sketching it but the weather wasn't that friendly as it kept changing from sunshine to rain drops, but towards the end it became nice and hot and almost too hot for comfort.

For the rest of this month, I'll be out and about in the City of London and the West End capturing landmark shots of the beautiful city.

This makes number 11 in my current Emotions series.



This is the "usual" tiny baby emotion-The model here is my newly born daughter, "Kezia" - she came on June 9th, 2009- 14.21hrs and weighed 3.2kg. This piece was done in charcoal dust, oil base pencil and graphite on watercolour paper.

This piece was achieved by first of all, ghosting and handling the charcoal dust as a watercolour, then blending it together with my fingers to give uniform tones. A medium oil base pencil was then used to put in basic lines,...

This is number 24 in my current Afro series- another experiment- I started off by mixing the charcoal dust with some Liquitex Slow Dri Blending medium(Never tried this just looking for effects)I didn't do any initial drawing just attacking the paper with my brush as I would approach a watercolour piece. Then when it was dry, I added more definite drawing and tone to the piece with the oil base...
