This is another entry on my experience at Bath. I produced this painting after enjoying a good long walk just taking loads of pictures of the beautiful City of Bath at night.

Yesterday I did this painting and finished it off in the studio this morning. I have sketched this tree before but it was so nice to get to paint it especially with its springy fresh foliage.




This was done on a Winsor and Newton Canvas Board in Oil colour.

It started snowing on Sunday night just before I left church and it has only stopped snowing this morning. We don't always have this sort of snow in London so I decided to take the opportunity to paint a snow scene on the spot, something I have never done before. The only other time I attempted a snow scene, I only did a sketch, then took pictures and worked it out in the studio.

It was one morning early this month as I was passing through London Bridge, that I caught a sight of this view-It was enchanting- I was only armed with my digital camera - and that was it! One shot and the painting is now done. Sometimes we see places we love but just can't get down to painting them, but this time I made sure this one wasn't going to elude me!

2 Studies for larger paintings on London Bridge

It was bank holiday yesterday, not too many people around in the early mornings 8-11am, so I go to London Bridge to paint two studies on London Bridge. One faces Morgate, the other faces Tower Bridge.

I'm really gearing into the plein air stuff, this is my first in Central London, a bit daunting, especially when I put my hand into my pocket and my five pound note flew into the River Thames!
