This is number 10 in my current series on Josh in sleep mode. This is the first time I have used colour to do one of these. I was inspired after reading the entry in A DAY IN GOD'S WILL. I needed to be inspired and that post just did the job!



He went to sleep after lunch and an active afternoon and I really needed to be quick with this one because he changes gears very easily!

I got in 3 valuable hours today and this might be the final. I don't think I'll be taking this on again because it got to the stage where I said all what I wanted to say at the beginning of the painting. It was all about her hair and that has been achieved! This is one model I would continue to paint as far as she is available. Very professional and has a charming personality too.

I caught josh in sleep mode today. Quite a while since he has been this tired after dinner. As he was watching "The Story of Ruth" suddenly it all went quiet and alas he has gone into sleep mode! I quickly got out my A4 sketch pad and a black coloured pencil and quickly got number 8 and 9 in this sketch series of Josh sleeping.

More sketches a busy day yesterday! I went on the tube, train and bus. At the beginning of the year when I thought I wouldn't be able to use the trains again because of the high rise in prices, I despaired because it is harder sketching on buses- shorter journeys, more movement and the sitting arrangement isn't that encouraging too.
